Rich text & markdown
The editor speaks markdown and a set of richer constructs on top: GFM tables, typed callouts, task lists, highlights and code blocks with copy buttons. Everything renders identically in the editor preview and on the public site — one renderer, zero surprises.
The everyday syntax
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
# , ## , ### | Headings (also build the page's table of contents) |
bold, italic, | Strong, emphasis, strikethrough |
` code | Inline code |
like this | Highlighted text |
text, | Links and images (URLs validated) |
- item / 1. item | Lists |
> text | Blockquote |
--- | Divider |
Tables (GFM)
Pipe tables render as real, styled tables:
| Plan | Price | Best for |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Free | 0 | Getting started |
| Paid | see /pricing | Custom domains |
Keep header rows short and cells scannable — a table is for comparison, not paragraphs.
Callouts
A blockquote starting with a tag becomes a colored callout:
> [!TIP]
One instruction per pass beats five vague ones.
| Tag | Use for |
|---|---|
[!NOTE] | Neutral context, side information |
[!TIP] | A trick that saves time |
[!IMPORTANT] | Something visitors must not miss |
[!WARNING] | Risky if ignored |
[!CAUTION] | Irreversible consequences |
Callouts are the difference between a wall of text and a guided one — use one per idea worth flagging, not five per page.
Task lists
- [ ] and - [x] render as checkboxes — perfect for checklists readers follow along (a launch checklist, a packing list, a setup guide).
Code blocks
Triple-backtick blocks keep their language tag and render with a copy button:
css
.card { border-radius: 16px; }
Use them for actual code, config snippets, or anything where monospace IS the message.
When markdown, when blocks
- Posts and prose — markdown, fast and portable.
- Landing pages — the page builder's blocks (see Custom pages): heroes, galleries, CTAs, embeds.
- Both together — a rich-text block inside a page builder page speaks this exact same syntax.
Tip
Headings are structure, not styling. One # per page, ## ` for sections — the table of contents, the scroll-spy navigation and the search snippets all read that structure. Bolding a line does not make it a heading.
Note
Raw HTML in markdown is sanitized through an allowlist — safe tags survive, scripts never do. If something will not render, it was probably HTML the renderer (rightly) refused.
