Invoices & payment methods

Every payment on your account writes an invoice — numbered, attributed, statused — and the billing page keeps the whole history readable. This is the money documentation, minus the archaeology.

What an invoice carries

FieldMeaning
Invoice numberThe reference for receipts and accounting
Plan + billing cycleWhat was bought and for how long
Amount (+ any discount)Original, discount and final are all recorded
ProviderWho processed the money
Statuspending → completed, or failed — stated, never implied

Payment providers

LinkMe supports BirrPay and Flutterwave; the checkout flow shows what is available for your region and currency. The provider processes the money; the platform records the result and applies the plan. Provider-side receipts land through the provider; the platform's invoice history is your complete local ledger either way.

Reading the history

Dashboard → Billing lists payments newest first with plan, amount and status. The states that matter:

  • Completed — paid and applied; the plan is active.
  • Pending — the provider has it; the platform is waiting for the callback. Refresh in a few minutes before worrying.
  • Failed — the provider said no (card declined, insufficient balance). The plan's grace arc (see Grace period & locking) handles the aftermath; the fix is a retry with a working method.

When a payment fails

  1. Do not panic-retry five times — read the failure reason shown; it names the actual problem.
  2. Fix the cause at the source: card balance, card expiry, provider-side limits.
  3. Retry once, cleanly.
  4. Watch the status flip to completed; if a completed payment does not lift the plan within minutes, THAT is a support ticket with the invoice number (see Contacting support).

Tip

The invoice number is the key that unlocks fast help. "My payment failed" takes a day of back-and-forth; "invoice INV-2043 shows failed but my card was charged" is a one-reply answer. Quote numbers, not vibes.

Methods, honestly

Card details live with the PROVIDER, not on LinkMe — the platform stores references and statuses, never raw card numbers. Updating a method happens in the provider's flow at checkout; the platform picks up the result. There is no stored-card list to audit here because there is no stored-card list, period.

For bookkeepers and past-you

  • Export or screenshot the billing history at tax time; statuses and numbers are stable.
  • Discounts (quarterly/semestral cycles, coupons) are printed on the invoice they applied to — the math reconstructs itself years later.
  • Founding-era offers record exactly what was paid and why on their invoices; the paper trail is the memory.

Note

Charges you genuinely do not recognize (not amounts, not providers you used) should go to the provider's dispute process first and to support in parallel with the invoice number — both tracks work fastest when started early.
