Shariah Compliancy Terms of Use

The usage standards every member pledges to keep: no riba, no gambling, honest dealings, respectful content, and data treated as a trust — the same terms agreed at signup, for every shariah-compliant user.

Read the commitments

Preamble

These Shariah Compliancy Terms of Use ("Shariah Terms") are the usage standards YOU agree to keep when you build, publish, sell or communicate through LinkMe. They form a binding part of the LinkMe Terms of Service and apply to everything under your account: your site and all of its pages, your listings, bookings, products, courses and forms, your emails and broadcasts, and anything else you publish or run on the platform.

LinkMe is built for every shariah-compliant user — Muslim professionals, scholars, students, businesses and institutions who want the tools they rely on to remain free of interest (riba), gambling (maysir), deception (ghish), excessive uncertainty (gharar) and what is plainly harmful. These are the same standards that keep the platform clean, honest and trustworthy for every shariah-compliant user.

By checking the Shariah Compliancy agreement at signup (or continuing to use LinkMe after these Terms take effect), you confirm that you have read these Shariah Terms and will keep your use of the Service within them. LinkMe is not a mufti, a certification body or a Shariah advisory board, and does not rule on your personal religiosity; it applies these published usage standards to content and conduct ON the platform. If you cannot accept them, please do not use the Service.

These usage terms supplement the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

1. Your Usage Pledge

You agree to use LinkMe for lawful, honest purposes in a manner consistent with Islamic ethical principles: fairness in trade, truthfulness in speech, keeping agreements, and causing no harm to people, animals or the public good.

You remain fully responsible for everything you publish, sell and run through your account — including content created with AI assistance that you choose to publish. "My theme made it look good" is not a defence; the tools are halal, the choices are yours.

Your site must comply with applicable law in your jurisdiction AND with these Shariah Terms. Where both apply, the stricter standard governs your use of the platform.

2. Prohibited Trades & Industries

You may not use LinkMe — your hosted site, links, pages, products, bookings or messages — to promote, sell, facilitate or direct traffic to: interest-based finance (riba): lending at interest, credit-card promotion, buy-now-pay-later interest schemes, usurious "investment" offers; gambling in any form (maysir): betting, casinos, lotteries, raffles, unlicensed prize draws; alcohol and intoxicants; recreational drugs, cannabis and vaping products; pork and pork-derived products sold as food; adult, pornographic or sexually explicit content, services or links.

Also prohibited: fortune-telling, astrology, tarot, black magic and similar occult services presented as real; scams and "get rich quick" pyramids (MLM recruitment-driven schemes); counterfeit goods and pirated media; weapons, drugs paraphernalia, or anything else unlawful where you or your visitors are.

When your account is new and under review, or when a credible report arrives, the platform may ask you to confirm the nature of your business. Clear, honest answers keep small misunderstandings small.

3. Honest Dealings — No Deception, No Gharar

Describe what you sell truthfully and deliver what you describe. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever cheats us is not one of us" (Sahih Muslim 102), and ALLAH commands full measure and honest weights (Qur'an 83:1-3). Fake portfolios, fabricated credentials, inflated client counts and cloned reviews have no place on your hosted site.

No deceptive marketing mechanics: no fake countdown timers, no fabricated scarcity ("only 2 left!" when it is not true), no hidden subscription traps, no bait pricing. State your price, your cycle, what is included and how to cancel — before the buyer commits.

Do not sell what does not exist or what you cannot deliver (gharar): unclear deliverables, deliberately vague scope, or "services" whose real nature you conceal. Bookings, orders and invoices created through LinkMe must identify the real parties and the real terms.

Honour your refund-stated policy and clear, lawful refund expectations even when no law forces you to — honesty in trade is the brand of a believer, and this platform is built on that brand.

4. Content & Modesty Standards

No explicit sexual content, nudity, or sexually suggestive material anywhere on your hosted site — including galleries, popups, avatars and downloads. No content whose primary purpose is to mock, demean or incite hatred against any faith, ethnicity, gender or people — including mockery of the religion or its sacred symbols.

No promotion of violence, self-harm, cruelty or terror; no doxxing or exposing private information of others; no harassment campaigns against individuals.

No forbidden music, art, photography or entertainment: do not make your hosted site a vehicle for prohibited music, impermissible imagery, or entertainment that conflicts with Islamic guidance. The truth in these matters is one and clear — LinkMe does not host them, and "people differ" is not a licence. Keep every page, gallery, popup and download you publish free of them.

5. Fair Treatment of People & Contracts

Keep your agreements (al-wafa' bil-'uqood — "fulfil every covenant", Qur'an 5:1): deliveries, timelines, access windows and terms you publish through LinkMe are promises you are expected to keep.

No fraud, phishing, impersonation of real people or organisations, account theft, or manipulation of platform systems (fake referral flows, scripted abuse of free tiers, card testing).

Respect other people's work: no plagiarism of others' copy, designs, themes or code as your own; honour software licences; attribute what you quote. Taking another's work without right is taking wealth without right.

No backbiting or defamation engines: don't build pages whose purpose is to slander, expose or run campaigns against identifiable private individuals.

6. Lawful Earnings & Payments

LinkMe does not currently integrate monetization — there is no platform payment processing, no sales, bookings payments, courses sales, donations collection or salary payouts running through the platform today (bookings and courses exist as features; no money changes hands through LinkMe). Whatever you earn outside the platform through work you showcase here must still come from lawful (halal) means consistent with Sections 2 and 3 — showing haram earnings on your site is treating the platform as a shopfront for what is not lawful.

If and when the platform introduces integrated monetization, these Terms will be updated and versioned BEFORE it goes live — you will never wake up to new money mechanics you did not agree to.

Do not use the platform to promote or coordinate the movement of illicit funds, to structure transactions that evade sanctions or law, or to advertise prohibited goods under a misleading description.

If you solicit donations or zakat through your site (for example, by linking to an external payment page), describe honestly who you are, what the funds are for, and how they will be used — collecting in the name of need you do not have is consuming wealth by falsehood (Qur'an 4:29).

7. Other People's Data Is an Amanah (A Trust)

Subscribers, customers, form submissions, bookings and messages you collect through LinkMe are a trust placed in your hands — not an asset to exploit. Don't sell, rent or share them onward; don't harvest them with scrapers or fake forms.

Email your list responsibly: honour opt-outs and unsubscribe requests promptly, never spam, and never send what the subscriber did not sign up for. The platform's email tools enforce one-click unsubscribe — keep it that way.

When you delete data or your account, deleting means deleting on your side of the trust too: exported copies you no longer have a lawful reason to keep should be removed, not warehoused.

8. AI & Automation with Honesty

You may use LinkMe's AI assistants (and any external AI tooling) to draft, translate, summarise and refine — but you own what you publish. Review AI output before it goes live; fabrications, invented citations and hallucinated credentials published under your name are your responsibility.

Do not use AI features to fabricate qualifications, impersonate real people, mass-generate deceptive or spam content, or automate abuse of the platform or its users.

AI chat assistants on hosted sites must present themselves as what they are — assistants — never as the human owner pretending to be personally present. Disclose AI involvement where its absence would deceive a buyer or reader.

9. Enforcement, Review & Appeals

Reports are reviewed by humans. Genuinely unlawful, explicit, fraudulent or harmful material — and the clear prohibitions in Sections 2 and 4 — are enforced: edit requests, removal, feature restrictions, or account suspension for severe or persistent violations, proportionate to what happened.

LinkMe does not arbitrate fiqh or judge your personal piety — and it does not need to: the enforced standard is the published one, and the truth in these matters is one and clear. What the platform removes is what these Terms prohibit, not what a visitor merely disliked.

Appeals are heard. If your content was actioned in error, respond through the appeal channel with the facts; a human re-reviews, and if the platform got it wrong it says so and restores your content with an apology.

10. Scope, Sincerity & Changes

These Shariah Terms govern YOUR use of the platform. They are a sincere, binding usage covenant — not a fatwa, not a Shariah advisory or certification service, and not a judgement on any user's heart. Every shariah-compliant user is welcome here on the same published terms.

The platform's own conduct commitments to you (interest-free billing mechanics, no data selling, the sadaqah pledge, honest marketing) live in the Terms of Service and their dedicated pages; if anything there and here ever conflict on a matter of permissibility, the stricter standard governs the platform.

Material changes to these Terms are versioned (below), announced before they take effect, and never applied retroactively to periods already paid for. Continued use after an announced change is acceptance of it; if a change troubles your conscience, you may export your content and leave with your data — no lock-in.

These Shariah Compliancy Terms of Use describe the usage standards you keep on LinkMe — they are not a certification of any user's personal religiosity, and they bind every account equally. LinkMe is a tool for every shariah-compliant user, and these are the terms that keep it clean, honest and trustworthy. Questions? Contact the team through the Support page.
