Popups
The popup builder creates four popup types from Dashboard → Popups: newsletter (subscribe form), message (announcement), CTA (button + copy) and bar (the slim top banner). Each renders on your public site under the targeting rules you set.
Triggers
| Trigger | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Exit intent | The cursor moves to leave the page (desktop) |
| Scroll depth | The visitor reaches a percentage of the page |
| Time delay | After N seconds on the page |
| On load | Immediately — use sparingly |
Triggers exist to protect the visit: a popup that interrupts the first three seconds reads as desperation. Scroll-depth on the newsletter and exit-intent on the CTA are the workhorses.
Scheduling and lifecycle
Set start and end windows — the server enforces them, not the visitor's clock, so a "launch week only" popup actually ends at the hour you said. Six ready presets give you a designed starting point; everything is editable with a live preview that shows the real rendering.
Analytics
Each popup tracks impressions, interactions and conversions — the honest funnel: seen → engaged → acted. A newsletter popup converting at 1% needs a better offer line, not more impressions.
Tip
One popup per job. Running newsletter + CTA + bar simultaneously on every page trains visitors to close things. Run ONE popup per campaign, with a trigger matched to intent, and retire it when the campaign ends.
The newsletter pairing
The newsletter popup is the front door of Analytics & newsletters: it collects the address, the email-marketing engine sends the campaigns. Wire them up and the loop is complete — popup → subscriber → campaign → clicks you can see in analytics.
Taste guidelines
- Bar popups for information ("Back in stock Monday"), modals for actions (subscribe, claim).
- Dismissable, always. A popup that fights the visitor loses the visitor.
- Mobile matters: check the preview at phone width before publishing — the trigger that works on desktop can be obnoxious in a thumb's way.
Note
Popups render on your public site only while enabled — pausing one is instant and reversible. See Plugin settings for how the popup interacts with per-site toggles, and Deleting content before you delete a converting popup by accident.
