Events & RSVP
Announce the thing, collect the heads-up, run the room. The events system covers the full loop: you publish an event, visitors RSVP from your site, and you manage the attendee list from the dashboard.
Creating an event
Editing happens on dedicated pages (Dashboard → Events → New event) via the shared event form:
- Name, date and time — what and when, unambiguous.
- Location — a physical address, a video-call link, or "to be announced".
- Description — rich text: agenda, speakers, what to bring, who it is for.
- Capacity — optional cap; RSVPs beyond it are waitlisted honestly, not silently accepted.
- Tags — group events by series ("workshop", "meetup", "launch").
Collecting RSVPs
Each published event gets a page with an RSVP form. Visitors give their name and email (plus anything extra you require); the response lands in your dashboard instantly with an unread badge, and the registration count updates live. You see, per event: total registrations, the attendee list, and the details each person submitted.
Managing the list
| Need | Where |
|---|---|
| See who is coming | Event → Registrations |
| Export the list | CSV export from the event view |
| Cancel / postpone | Edit the event — the page reflects it immediately |
| Follow up | Emails are right there on the list (respect spam law) |
Putting events on the site
- Upcoming events render in the events section of your site automatically — ordered by date, past events drop off.
- The Events & RSVP plugin drops event blocks and RSVP forms into any custom page — a landing page for one specific event, with the form inline, is a five-minute build.
- The Design Studio makes the social graphics: an event story frame or flyer exported at the right size, with the event URL in the caption.
Tip
Publish early, remind late. An event published three weeks out collects plan-ahead RSVPs; a reminder graphic the week of converts the "meant to" crowd. Both need only the one event page you already have.
Honest limits
RSVP collection is first-party: responses are stored with your site, exportable anytime, never sold or shared. There is no built-in email drip sequence — for announcements to a subscriber list, pair events with the newsletter (see Analytics & newsletters). Capacity is enforced at RSVP time on the honor of the form, not by turnstile — for ticketed, paid entry, link out to your ticketing provider from the event description.
Note
Deleting an event removes its page but keep the attendee list first — export the CSV before deleting anything you may need to contact. See Deleting content.
